Mark Your Calendar to be a Part of International Meeting on Fiber Lasers and Applications (IFLA) 23-24 June 2014 Bar-Ilan University, Ramat-Gan, Israel ABSTRACT AND SUMMARY SUBMISSION PROCESS More than one abstract may be submitted for consideration; however submissions must be made separately (one abstract per submission). Abstracts of the proposed papers are to be 35 words in length. Abstracts are to be included in the conference program. Submit an extended summary (2 pages minimum) for meeting proceedings as a separate file, along with the abstract file. The extended summary should include a description of the principal issues, research methods and conclusions of the paper. The extended summary should be submitted in .doc or .docx format, in accordance with SPIE Manuscript Specifications Authors must designate the relevant topic out of the specified topics (listed below), to help categorize the abstracts and summary. Authors must specify their presentation preference (oral or poster presentation) The abstract submitted must include a 100 word curriculum vitae of the presenter upon submission. Time allocations for paper presentations will be 15 minutes, including questions and answers. Abstracts/Summaries that are deemed to be sales or marketing presentations of an organization’s products or capabilities will be rejected by the Scientific Committee. If selected to present, the author is responsible for ensuring that the paper is unclassified and releasable for publication no later than the submission deadline date: 17 March 2014. Specialty fibers, including photonic crystal fibers (PCF) 4. Fiber laser components 5. UV, mid-IR and visible light generation 6. Beam combining techniques 7. Fiber laser applications: material processing, medical, sensors and more 8. Reliability of fiber systems REVIEW PROCESS Abstract and manuscript submissions will be reviewed by at least 2 expert reviewers from the IFLA Scientific Committee. Submissions will be evaluated and ranked by the committee for final selection into the program for presentation. Author notifications on the scientific committee decisions will be sent by May 5th 2014. The IFLA Scientific Committee will strive to balance the program across all specified topics. Abstracts are welcomed from around the world, from industry, from academia, or from government laboratories. A SPECIAL ISSUE in SPIE "OPTICAL ENGINEERING" journal on the topic of the conference will be published. Manuscripts on the meeting topics are welcome.
